Day 19

More fill coats.  One thing I have learned through this process is that many, many thin coats of epoxy are superior to a few thick coats.  The reason is gravity and surface tension.  When you apply a thick layer of epoxy, it does fill the weave  faster, however the surface tension of the liquid epoxy is not sufficient enough to overcome the effect of gravity so you end up with epoxy running down the sides of the boat creating drips or orange peel areas.

I estimate that it may take as many as 5 additional very thin coats to fill the weave of the deck, but in the ling run I should end up with a better finish.  I already have one fill coat on, and today I will apply two additional coats, one in the morning and one in the evening.
